On Friday 6th May M Gladwin Electrical took Gelders to Market Rasen Race Day.

It was a successful day for some, with Gary Rousseau of Gelders picking winners for most of the races.  This luck may have been down to the fact he was defecated on by a bird prior to the start of the races!

Thanks to the wholesalers who contributed to the day and without their support days like this could not go ahead.

We are pleased to announce that we have secured the Sleaford Eastgate Development.  The project is for the construction of a new Fire Station and Office Building along with a Training Tower and Accommodation Block. 

The proposed new development will replace the existing Fire Station on Church Lane and will offer office space for Council staff along with a base for Sleaford’s full time firefighters, who form part of the Country’s International Search and Rescue Team, and also the towns on-call firefighters.

The total project value is just over £4.2 million with the electrical package value in the region of £400k.

Chloe Salter from Branston Community Academy, joined us for the week on work experience.

Chloe’s older brother Daniel is currently undertaking an Electrical apprenticeship with us.

Chloe said of her experience:

“I have wanted to be an electrician for some time now, so I was really excited when M Gladwin Electrical agreed to take me for work experience week.

I felt a little nervous on the first morning as I was unsure how I would get on working in a male environment but after being there a while I felt at ease and by the end of the day I felt like part of the team.

During my week I was working at a new office block in Nettleham.  The engineer I was working with was called Gary and his apprentice Dann, Gary taught me how to strip back wires and I was helping them to put up trunking for data cables and main cables for sockets.  I also made off transformers for low voltage led lighting.

I thoroughly enjoyed my week and it has made me determined to work hard so I can pursue my career in becoming an electrician.
